*I hope people use their own wise judgement when hiking always plan ahead and be prepared. One should never go beyond their abilities.*

Over the years I've had a few goals my first was to Summit all the Peaks of Waterton. Here is My Waterton Summit List I completed that goal on September 26, 2016.

My next goal I'm still working on and that is to summit the 6 10,000 foot Summmits of Glacier National Park. I have one left Kintla.

My 2018 Goal that I accomplished was to summit 40 peaks in my 40th year and that I finished on September 26, 2018.

Not sure what will be my next goal, once Glacier's Summits are done?

I commonly use 3 Hashtags on my social media. The first one is #itookthepathlesstraveledby which is to reference this blog. The next two relate to my father and grandfather who were also hikers. #milesformarkellingson is to remember my
Dad, Mark Ellingson and #dustfromthetrailandhowitsettledonme is to remember my Grandfather Earl Ellingson

Carthew/Alderson Summit Scout Camp August 22, 2009

This was the summer hike we did for the 2009 scout camp.  The day was gorgeous, and the kids, of course, wanted to fish and I think every kid caught a fish that day.  This Carthew/Alderson Summit hike I've done many times so there isn't much more to say but here are a few more pictures as sometimes there is some unique shots I take on the same hike.  But as a side note the night before the hike we camped at Crandell campground and I have never had wind like that while tenting.  It was so strong that both the tents we had blew over and broke.  We had to scramble in the middle of the night and take them down and sleep in the camp kitchen.  It was a night I'll never forget and since then we have bought more durable tents for our scout troop.

On the false summit of the Carthew/Alderson Summit ridge (only these two boys wanted to climb this, the rest were too tired and were ready to descend down to the lakes to fish)

View looking southeast toward Glacier Park

Chief Mountain in the distance

Cleveland in the middle, not much snow on the mountains this year

Little wildlife we met on the way to the first Carthew Lake

Fishing on Carthew Lake

Coming down between Carthew and Alderson Lake

Group shot with the waterfall

No Summit hike would be complete without the infamous Cameron Falls picture at the end
