*I hope people use their own wise judgement when hiking always plan ahead and be prepared. One should never go beyond their abilities.*

Over the years I've had a few goals my first was to Summit all the Peaks of Waterton. Here is My Waterton Summit List I completed that goal on September 26, 2016.

My next goal I'm still working on and that is to summit the 6 10,000 foot Summmits of Glacier National Park. I have one left Kintla.

My 2018 Goal that I accomplished was to summit 40 peaks in my 40th year and that I finished on September 26, 2018.

Not sure what will be my next goal, once Glacier's Summits are done?

I commonly use 3 Hashtags on my social media. The first one is #itookthepathlesstraveledby which is to reference this blog. The next two relate to my father and grandfather who were also hikers. #milesformarkellingson is to remember my
Dad, Mark Ellingson and #dustfromthetrailandhowitsettledonme is to remember my Grandfather Earl Ellingson

Cross Country Ski to Cameron Lake January 1, 2016

We went to Waterton for the new year with my two sisters and their families.  We had a great time.  The sun was shining and the the wind was blowing.  So we ate lunch down by Waterton Lake and the kids were out exploring.  I decided to go and take a few pictures and my nephew fell through the ice in the creek heading to the lake and so I went to go help him and fell in too.  He was ok, it was pretty shallow were he fell through and only got a little wet, but I fell in a deeper spot and got up to my thighs wet, so I had to go back to the camp kitchen and dry off before we could go to Cameron Lake.  Once there we got the kids all geared up and some of us skied and others snowshoed.  It was a little later and the sun quickly fell behind Custer and so we were a little cool.  We made it back and got warm by the fire in the camp kitchen and then headed home.

Sun just about behind the mountains

Our group, some colder than others!

Snow covered trees are beautiful

A little blurry but final look back on the trail (Forum Ridge in the center)

On the drive back had to take these couple shots of Vimy Peak and Boswell
