*I hope people use their own wise judgement when hiking always plan ahead and be prepared. One should never go beyond their abilities.*

Over the years I've had a few goals my first was to Summit all the Peaks of Waterton. Here is My Waterton Summit List I completed that goal on September 26, 2016.

My next goal I'm still working on and that is to summit the 6 10,000 foot Summmits of Glacier National Park. I have one left Kintla.

My 2018 Goal that I accomplished was to summit 40 peaks in my 40th year and that I finished on September 26, 2018.

Not sure what will be my next goal, once Glacier's Summits are done?

I commonly use 3 Hashtags on my social media. The first one is #itookthepathlesstraveledby which is to reference this blog. The next two relate to my father and grandfather who were also hikers. #milesformarkellingson is to remember my
Dad, Mark Ellingson and #dustfromthetrailandhowitsettledonme is to remember my Grandfather Earl Ellingson

Crandell Loop Biking July 14, 2021 Waterton Lakes National Park

So I'm not much of a mountain biker, but this was my feble attempt at it.  My brother in law went a few days later and did this trail much quicker.  I think I walked my bike most of the way, except for the approach on the road up Red Rock Canyon.  But this was a trail I had never done in Waterton which is partially why I didn't mind giving it a try.  I'll have to up my game a bunch in biking before I do any more like this.  It was a very hot day and a dip in Waterton Lake at the end was glorious!

Biking to the Red Rock Canyon Road, Crandell Mountain in the background

On the Red Rock Canyon Road

Blakiston Creek looking beautiful this morning

This building was named after my Great-Grandmother Kate Parry, it was one of the few buildings at this church camp that didn't burn down in the fire

As you can see the brush is overgrowing in front of the lodge, there is a lot of work to do to get this camp ready

Crandell Lake as seen in front of Galwey

One of the many pretty gully's coming off Crandell Mountain

Little hazy but great view of Boswell, notice the silhouette of my brother in law waiting for me on the far left... he waited a bunch for me today

View down on Cameron Lake Road, it was tempting to descend and go out faster and easier

Huge bolder on the trail, imagine when this fell it made quite a noise

Little bushy at the end

Lot's of flowers on the trail

Just before our soak in the lake, and no I didn't wet myself, that is sweat!
