This was a fun day, a group of friends were down from school in Edmonton for a weekend excursion. We decided to go cross-country ski to Wall Lake. I had attempted this years before as a scout and we had got lost on the trail because that year there was so much snow and the trail isn't very apparent on certain sections of the trail. This year was different we had good snow and the trail had been skied before so we could follow the tracks. My future wife was also in this group of friends and she had borrowed some skis from a friend. They were waxed skis that had no wax on them. Anyways it is quite hard to ski up hills with un-waxed skis, so I being the gentleman I was, switched my skis for hers. Anyways, life was better for her but it was a very challenging day for me. This may have been the spark that convinced my future bride that I was a good "catch."
