*I hope people use their own wise judgement when hiking always plan ahead and be prepared. One should never go beyond their abilities.*

Over the years I've had a few goals my first was to Summit all the Peaks of Waterton. Here is My Waterton Summit List I completed that goal on September 26, 2016.

My next goal I'm still working on and that is to summit the 6 10,000 foot Summmits of Glacier National Park. I have one left Kintla.

My 2018 Goal that I accomplished was to summit 40 peaks in my 40th year and that I finished on September 26, 2018.

Not sure what will be my next goal, once Glacier's Summits are done?

I commonly use 3 Hashtags on my social media. The first one is #itookthepathlesstraveledby which is to reference this blog. The next two relate to my father and grandfather who were also hikers. #milesformarkellingson is to remember my
Dad, Mark Ellingson and #dustfromthetrailandhowitsettledonme is to remember my Grandfather Earl Ellingson

Crandell Summer 2000

A group of friends from Edmonton decided that we wanted to head down to Southern Alberta for a couple of days of hiking and we decided to do Crandell and Galwey peaks.  We had talked to our friend Gerry and he said this was a fun approach to summit Crandell and we couldn't have agreed more.  It was a great hike with stunning views back to Waterton Lake.  You start by taking the trail up to Bears hump and then continue up the same ridge till you summit.  Once on top we were not sure where to head down so we just decided to head to Crandell Lake.  There was a faint trail at times.  We eventually made it down but had to walk back to the town site, but luckily we tried hitch hiking and got picked up from someone we knew...what luck.

Our group on the ridge on the way up

There were lots of cool shots along this ridge

Great view looking back at Waterton Lake

Almost near the top

Cool little cave near the top

Another great shot looking down on Waterton Lake

On the top, there is actually a helicopter landing pad on top of this peak

Had to relieve a little pressure

At Crandell Lake near the end of our hike
