Crypt Lake Scout Camp Hike July 6, 2013

This was the final day of our Scout camp and it was a gorgeous day to start.  I've never canoed on Upper Waterton Lake when it was so calm.  The hike was also great, yet near the end as we were getting back to the canoes the wind picked up and you could see a storm approaching from the west.  We quickly tried to head back and had quite a time canoeing against the wind and making it safely back to shore.  After a few hours of waiting for everyone to get in we loaded up the canoes and headed for home.  I think we got home just after midnight.

Beginning our day

So calm on the lake

Hardly a breath of wind on our boat rides over

Saw a few Bald Eagles along the way

The third waterfall along the trail

Group shot at the Lake

Crypt Falls

Crypt Falls looking down

Waiting for the rest of our group to make it back

The final two canoes finally arrive
