Calanque d'en Vau France April 10, 2015

We had a holiday this year to France and along the way we decided to go hike the Calanque's which are these amazing gorges south of Marseille.  They are mostly only accessible by either boat or foot and we chose to go by foot.  The day was hot, but it was very rewarding to look down on the pristine water and see it glistening.  My two oldest kids loved it and it was a change of scenery from all the castles and cathedrals we had seen.  I must say I love castles and old buildings but there is something to be said about nature and its splendor.
We had hiked for a little bit and came to this but the better view was ahead.

This is looking back toward Marseille

The Calanque d'en Vau

Little beach we could have hiked down to, but we didn't have much time

These cliffs are pretty shear.
My wife didn't want to get to close to the edge

Pictures don't do justice.

It was amazing how clear the water was

Looking toward Cassis

The rock here was pretty neat, but very hot as there was little shade
